Jammer-assisted Joint Power Allocation and Beamforming for Covert Wireless Transmission in ISAC Systems

The integration of radar sensing and communication is a promising technology and provides enhancement of spectrum resource utilization. Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) systems are emerging to improve communication quality and sensing efficiency. To ensure information security for ISAC systems, a jammer assisted covert wireless transmission technology is introduced into the ISAC system and joint power allocation and beamforming scheme is proposed. The sensing and communication performances are analyzed and the detection probability of Willie is calculated. The problem of maximizing covert rate by optimizing the beamformer vectors and power allocation is established and solved through semi-definite relaxation (SDR). Our work reveals the tradeoff between sensing performance and communication performance, and the influence of jamming power budget to wireless transmission rate. The numerical results highlight the benefits of jammer assisted covert wireless transmission in ISAC systems.
