Preparation of Maleic Anhydride-Polystyrene Microsphere Cross-Linking Shikonin and Oxidized Nanocellulose Film for Freshness Monitoring

This paper fabricated a new kind of maleic anhydride-polystyrene microsphere-shikonin/oxidized nanocellulose film with freshness monitoring function. Shikonin was used as a color indicator, the oxidized nanocellulose was used as a matrix, styrene-maleic anhydride microspheres were used as a cross-linking agent, and glycerin was used as a plasticizer. The morphology, microstructure, structural stability, and mechanical properties of the styrene-maleic anhydride microsphere-shikonin/oxidized nanocellulose film were characterized. Then the pH responsiveness and food freshness monitoring performance were tested. Test results showed that the styrene-maleic anhydride microsphere-shikonin/oxidized cellulose film could be applied in the freshness monitoring of pork and shrimp.
