摘要
This paper presents a study on a ±320 kV voltage source converter (VSC)-based high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system. The typical topology of Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) is used in the modeling of VSCs. The evaluation of DC cable parameters is based on the classical method (CM) and recently proposed new Line/Cable-Data (LCD) module in an existing EMT-type simulation tool. The current transformation matrix, propagation constant and absolute value of input impedance on DC cable in frequency and modal domains are calculated and investigated. Moreover, transient simulations of the ±320 kV VSC-HVDC cable system are studied. The influences of various methods, bundle configurations, length and grounding resistances of the DC cable on transient simulations are made clear. The new findings in this paper can serve as new references for EMT simulation for future cable dominated VSC-HVDC power systems.
