摘要
We analyzed personality traits using the user behavior information of college students in programming courses. Students' personality traits were understood by utilizing readily available information from the teaching process in the classroom. Suitable learning strategies were recommended for students based on the results of this analysis. We employed a self-developed system for testing to collect students' notes and record their operational behaviors in the practicing process. These data were then used for subsequent analysis focusing on the transitions between note-taking and programming states. 45 participants participated in this study. Personality traits such as conscientiousness, and openness to experience were used to classify the participants. Previous studies indicated a higher correlation between conscientiousness, openness to experience, and learning strategies. With a two-layer random forest model, an error rate of 10.71% was achieved for the developed first-layer model to classify participants based on their note content, conscientiousness, and openness to experience. The second-layer model used note content and operational behavior and openness to experience.
