The Digital Paper Chase: Investigating Acceptance and Usage of an E-Document App.

Digitalization and digital online services have become part of our everyday life while data privacy and protection are of high priority. As part of the digital public administration official documents can be applied for via government gateways, or, as for security, password management applications are available. The present research examines through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) whether an e-document app that is developed for the storage of personal official documents would be welcome and used. The research has been conducted in Hungary and the results are promising since the TAM model shows positive attitude, however the usefulness and the intention to use factors of the model run into one another, i.e. they merged, meaning that the respondents did not identify these two factors as well as ‘trust’ and ‘security’ as independent components. Future research is planned to reveal the hidden patterns in the TAM model.
