Diffraction from Impedance Wedge: Case Study Nonphysical Pole Suppression from Maliuzhinets Solution

This work presents a study on the non-physical poles of the Maliuzhinets (MZ) solution for diffraction from an impedance wedge under oblique incident conditions. The objective of this study is to simplify the MZ solution by suppressing these non-physical poles. The findings reveal that the accuracy of the MZ solution, without one or two nonphysical poles, is highly satisfactory. However, it is worth noting that the accuracy is significantly compromised, particularly in the case of cross-polarization, when the O-face of a right-angle wedge is a Perfect Electric Conductor (PEC).
