Investigation of Setpoint Tracking of Chopper based DC Motor Drive

摘要
DC motors are widely used in domestic applications and toys due small size and low cost. A very significant feature of dc motors is that their motion can be instantly reversed by simply reversing the polarity of applied dc source. The present research is addressing the development of dc motor drive which contains dc motor equipped with control system for controlling its speed. A class-A chopper based drive has been simulated in MATLAB for the considered dc motor, and a comparison of setpoint tracking with two different values of proportional gain of speed controller has been carried out.
