摘要
This study explores the influence of geometric variations on the electromagnetic response of a graphene-enhanced grating in the terahertz frequency range, in the view of supporting the development of high-performing passive devices for advanced terahertz applications. The investigation is addressed by performing Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy (TTDS) measurements, in which the dimension of the grating’s geometry and the thickness of the gold reflector vary according to a factorial design. The analysis provides insights into the interplay between the geometry of the metamaterial (i.e. artificial material with pattern-dependent properties) and its electromagnetic response, highlighting the role of the grating’s layout and the gold’s reflector thickness in determining the transmission, reflection, and absorption of the grating. The results advance the knowledge of terahertz-responsive materials and devices for innovative sensing, imaging, and communication systems.
