摘要
This chapter provides an overview of how international migration complicates intergenerational relations in migrant families focusing specifically on three groups of older people impacted by international migration: (1) individuals who relocate for the sake of family reunification (i.e., reunited seniors), (2) older migrants who first migrated to the receiving contexts during adulthood, and (3) parents who have emigrant children but themselves stay behind in the home societies. These three strands of literature by no means cover the entire field of ageing, migration, and family but offer us important insight into the topic of intergenerational relations in the contexts of family dislocation and resettlement.
