Synthesis of Mesoporous Aluminosilicates with Moderate Acidity and High Hydrothermal Stability by Acid-Free Method

Mesoporous aluminosilicates (MAs) are promising catalytic materials for large molecule cracking. However, this material still suffers from poor stability and weak acidity. Synthesis of MAs with enhanced acidity and excellent hydrothermal stability is very desirable. In this study, we propose the facile obtaining of hydrothermally stable Al-SBA-15 with moderate acidity by using a sodium persulfate strategy in an acid-free medium. The obtained Al-SBA-15 exhibits large surface areas (430 m(2)/g), superior hydrothermal stability (in pure water vapor at 800 degrees C), and desirable properties of acidity. The dependence of XRD patterns, porosity structure, hydrothermal stability, and intrinsic acidity of the synthesized MAs on Al species introduction content is established. The obtained MAs exhibited much improved catalytic cracking performance for heavy oil in microactivity test system units, compared with the conventional SBA-15 with pure silica and weak acidity.
