摘要
The main objective of the present work is to obtain optimization of the various input parameters while face milling of alloy steel AISI 52100. Experiments have been executed under minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) conditions. An MQL setup generates a flow of lubricant after its mixing with air in a proper ratio. The surface integrity of the surface is taken in terms of surface roughness and tool performance in tool wear. After experimentation work, Taguchi methodology has been used for the optimization of the parameters. Taguchi methodology combined with gray relational analysis (TGRA) is implemented for the accomplished work. The result shows that the depth of cut has the highest degree of influence on the output parameters considered for the research work here. The optimal conditions concluded are cutting depth (DOC) 0.2 mm, speed 700 rpm, feed rate 120 mm/min, and lubricant flow rate (LFR) 150 ml/h.
