Design of Low Voltage Ride-Through Control System for Doubly Fed Wind Power Generator

This paper presents a control strategy for enhancing the low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability of a doubly-fed wind power generator based on its mathematical model. The control strategy utilizes grid magnetic flux-oriented vector control. A dual inverter control system is designed based on this strategy, and a simulation model of the wind turbine's LVRT capability is created and analyzed using the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The simulation results demonstrate that under a 50% voltage drop and a fault time of t=0.625s, the control system effectively reduces abnormal fluctuations in voltage, current, and torque during voltage drops. This improvement enhances the generator's ability to withstand low voltage conditions and ensures smooth operation in such scenarios.
