Determination of Over-speeded De-loading Margin for Wind Turbines Based on Frequency Regulation Requirements

With the large-scale integration of wind power into the grid and the continuous increase in penetration rate, higher requirements are being placed on the frequency regulation capability of wind turbines. This paper investigates the over-speeded de-loading margin for wind turbines based on system frequency regulation requirements. Firstly, the system determines the frequency regulation requirement $\Delta f$ , and then the turbine units determine the magnitude of the over-speeded de-loading margin control coefficient $x$ based on $\Delta\ f$ . Subsequently, the system achieves de-loading through over-speed control, thereby improving the frequency response after system disturbances. Simulation analysis was conducted using PowerFactory for three different de-loading coefficient scenarios, and the results demonstrate the significant significance of this study in improving wind power participation in grid frequency regulation and enhancing the stability of system operation.
