Research on DC grid fault ride-through based on the coordination of blocking converter and energy storage system

With the advancement of power electronics technology, the DC distribution network has developed rapidly. Isolation of DC faults is one of the main problems faced by DC grids. The technical solution of using the DC circuit breaker has problems such as high economic cost and heavy operation and maintenance workload. Technical solutions based on faultblocking converters have got more and more attention, and there are some key issues that need to be resolved. This article conducts research on fault ride-through technology based on fault-blocking converters and energy storage systems. The topology and operating mechanism of the fault-blocking converter are proposed, and the fast recovery technology of the DC distribution network and the energy storage coordination control strategy when the converter is blocked are analyzed,, which helps to improve the power supply reliability of the DC distribution network. Finally, potential research directions are pointed out to provide references for further research.
