摘要
This research addresses developing an Ultra Wide Band (UWB) MIMO antenna through optimising the multi-frequency operative Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO). The antenna design was optimised using the Ant colony optimisation (ACO) methodology. The targeted MIMO antenna design process is viewed as a multi-objective problem with the primary goal of operating with a UWB while maintaining a 20 dB isolation. This design procedure has now been transformed into an optimisation task. The arbitrarily search-based ant colony algorithm was selected to address the wide range of design optimisation issues. The ACO optimiser successfully optimises the geometrical parameters of the proposed MIMO. To validate the optimum values, a MIMO antenna is made on the commercially available, low-cost flame retardant (FR)-4 epoxy material. Furthermore, an anechoic chamber was used to certify the produced prototype. A good match was achieved between the real-time validated results and the software simulation. As it's operating in the UWB, a decent gain of roughly 2 dB in the entire band was reported, along with good radiation efficiency. These validated results prove that The ACO method successfully achieves the intended optimisation.
