Application of the Luenberger observer for rotor resistance estimation in induction motor drives

This paper presents a method for online identification of rotor resistance using the Luenberger observer. The rotor resistance is estimated with a full-order adaptive law and is used as the feedback signal for the vector controls. To improve the steady-state performance of the identification system, a closed-loop model of it is constructed to analyze the stability and robustness. An experiment is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the indirect vector control system with the Luenberger observer.
