Composite Block Backstepping for Micro Gas Turbine System with Mismatched Disturbances

To better satisfy the speed regulation requirements of micro gas turbine system, a composite controller adopting block backstepping technology is proposed in this paper. Compared with traditional approaches, the proposed algorithm can achieve better dynamic response and higher steady-state accuracy. The composite controller consists of a PID inner-loop controller and a nonlinear outer loop controller. By adopting block backstepping technology, the complex mathematical form of high-order backstepping controller can be avoided. The outer loop controller can effectively deal with the nonlinearities in micro gas turbine and improve the dynamic performance of the system. Rigorous stability analysis is presented. Simulation results are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the composite controller, which significantly improve the control effect of micro gas turbine.
