Training inspection class mini-ROV operators

The paper presents a short course envisioned to teach adults to operate mini ROVs more effectively and generally more responsibly. The three day course consists of 18 hours of lectures and in similar to courses for aerial drone operations. It consists of a theoretical and hands-on part. The students learn to operate the ROV on a custom built polygon which allows fine tuning the operators maneuvering capabilities. The hands-on part culminates with an exam dive on a shipwreck where pair diving with ROVs is performed with a task of ship hull inspection. The adaptation of this course for high-school education is also presented in this brief. Since this adaptation is ongoing during the time of writing the focus is on the methodology and the benefits to students that were currently observed.
