摘要
This study presents an innovative and environmentally friendly approach for synthesizing silver nanoparticles by using the aqueous extract of Lasiodiplodia theobromae , an endophytic fungus isolated from medicinal plant. The primary aim was to investigate the silver nanoparticles potential in combating bacterial infections, specifically those caused by multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains carrying the CTX-M-15 and AmpC genes. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was confirmed through UV spectrophotometric analysis; their characteristics were studied using SEM, zeta sizer, and zeta potential analysis. A series of antibacterial assays, including agar well diffusion, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC), and antibiofilm assays, were conducted. The findings demonstrated that the synthesized silver nanoparticles displayed significant antibacterial and antibiofilm activities, surpassing the effectiveness of standard antibiotics. These results highlight the substantial promise of the synthesized silver nanoparticles as an alternative for treating infections caused by multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains expressing CTX-M-15 and AmpC genes. This research introduces an innovative and sustainable approach to addressing the critical global health concern of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.
