Fast Power Tracking Control of Wind Turbines for Frequency Support

摘要
A power tracking controller for frequency support by wind power plants without energy storage is presented. Due to the decreasing inertia, regenerative systems such as wind turbines and photovoltaic power plants will have to provide an instantaneous reserve for frequency support in power systems. A controller structure, related control-oriented models, and an associated design method are presented. Fast power tracking is ensured by leaving the optimal operating point in the partialload and generator torque decreasing in the full-load region. To achieve the control objectives, a design procedure in the model-based Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy framework is proposed, where simulation studies show the applicability for representative scenarios.
