Effect of the Electrodeposition Cycle of RGO Towards Glucose Detection

The author report on the synthesis of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) using electrodeposition method on screen printed gold electrode (SPGE). The RGO were deposited on the screen-printed gold electrode (SPGE) using cyclic voltammetry technique with different cycles of 3, 5 and 7 of voltage range from -1.35V to -2.0V voltage applied. The surface morphology of RGO was being characterized using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The intensity ratio of Raman spectra was being calculated in order to investigate the amount of disordered phase for each cycle. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis was used in the detection of glucose and the linear curve plot was obtained. The sensitivity for each electrode was calculated from the slope obtained from the linear obtained from each electrode. The increase in the number of cycles increase the sensitivity of the sensor. The highest sensitivity in the detection of glucose concentration (1mM – 10mM) was discovered from the RGO 7 cycles of electrodeposition.
