A fast heat transfer calculation and optimization method for solid rocket motor overcoat structure based on Python

The overcoat structure is located between the solid rocket motor case and the propellant grain, which is an important structural component of the solid rocket motor. It plays an important role in the structural integrity, working reliability and safety of the solid rocket motor. Besides, the thickness of overcoat directly affects the success or failure of solid rocket motor operation, which is the key problem that designers pay attention to. In this paper, a fast heat transfer calculation and optimization method for solid rocket motor overcoat structure based on Python is presented. This method takes into account the typical four-layer structure of case, gas, overcoat and grain, only considering heat transfer between the four layers. The corresponding heat transfer program and graphical user interface are programmed using Python and PyQt15 to realize a fast calculation and optimization of the heat transfer of overcoat structure. Compared with Fluent software, the method is simple and effective, can quickly and accurately predict the heat transfer process of the overcoat structure, which provides great convenience for the design and optimization of the overcoat structure of solid rocket motor.
