Modeling of Hypersonic Vehicle and Analysis of Channel Coupling Characteristics

The channels of hypersonic vehicle are strongly coupled, causing a large impact on the vehicle's attitude stability. So in order to design fault tolerant controllers, the channel coupling characteristics of the vehicle need to be analysed. Firstly, this article conducts a six-dof nonlinear modeling of a certain hypersonic vehicle. Secondly, by interpolating and smoothing the discrete aerodynamics data parameters of the vehicle under specific conditions, an aerodynamic parameter model is established. Finally, the simulation analyses the single-channel dynamic characteristics of the vehicle and the cross-coupling characteristics among pitch, yaw, and roll channel. The results indicate the hypersonic vehicle model is a nonlinear and strong coupling system between the three channels. The cross-coupling effect between channels should be considered in fault-tolerant controller design.
