摘要
Background: Due to rapidly changing models of health care, there is a growing need for nurses to deliver care through home telehealth nursing (nursing care that is typically delivered in a patient's home but instead takes place via telehealth). However, this content is missing from nursing curricula. Methods: To fill this gap, nursing faculty developed and implemented an innovative simulation activity to teach prelicensure public health nursing students home telehealth nursing. Results: Applicaiton of the seven components of the NLN Jeffries Simulation Theory that guided the development of the simulation activity is explained. Conclusion: This innovative approach may simultaneously provide nursing students with skills necessary to meet health needs of the population while filling an established professional development gap.
