Study on the Tangible User Interface Jigsaw Puzzle for Curing ADHD/ADD Children.

Neural feedback therapy and sensory integration training are effective means to treat attention deficit disorder (ADD)/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study on neural feedback therapy and sensory integration training adapted to family environment has long been the bottleneck in the practicalization of family treatment scheme. In light of this problem, we integrate BCI and TUI technique and propose the prototype of TUI jigsaw puzzle, E-Jigsaw, to treat ADD/ADHD children. E-Jigsaw consists of an interaction with the users that conform to neural feedback mechanism. Its TUI feature can help train the hand-eye coordination, precision manipulation, sensory integration ability and attention level. The design is based on the psychological feature of the patients, and thus prevents the psychological resistance from children. E-Jigsaw is an extension of the current mode of neural feedback therapy and sensory integration training, and overcomes the respective limitation. E-Jigsaw proposed in this article improves the user experience for ADD/ADHD children.
