Integral Double Derivative Plus Filter Controller for Frequency Regulation of Dual Area Power System with HVDC Line

摘要
In this paper, integral double derivative plus filter (IDDF) controller is presented for regulating the interconnected power system (IPS) frequency. The performance of IDDF is tested on dual area conventional thermal hydro (DACTH) system for 10% step load perturbation (10%SLP) on area-1. The IDDF design parameters are optimized with the water cycle optimization technique (WCOT). Moreover, the IDDF efficacy is showcased with the other reported control approaches in the literature. Further, the time delays (TDs) are considered with the DACTH with the motto of conducting the research near to the realistic nature and their effect on the performance is demonstrated. Furthermore, an HVDC line is laid with the DACTH system in parallel with the existing tie-line to attain overall performance enhancement.
