摘要
Friction Stir Welding is a solid-state process, overcomes many of the problems connected with traditional joining techniques. Also, produces welds of high quality in difficult-to-weld materials especially for fabricating lightweight transport structures used in boats and aeroplanes. At present, FSW of the aluminium alloys 7075 and 6063 plates has been accomplished with different combinations of weld process variables such as rotational speed (450, 900 and 1400 rpm), traverse speed (40, 60 and 80 mm/min) and tool pin configuration (cylinder, taper cylinder and hexagon) based on Taguchi L9-orthogonal array. Further, the weld specimens preceded for evaluating the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness, impact toughness and ultimate bending load. Also, Taguchi analysis will be implemented to recognize the effective factors for achieving exceptional weld joints. Furthermore, ANOVA is implemented to estimate the outstanding and adequate welding parameters.
