Implementation of wearable device for upper limb rehabilitation using embedded IoT

In this paper, we designed a low-cost upper-limb rehabilitation device that includes sensors and in-built technology that allows for accurate movement evaluation and mussel force. The function modules designed encompasses a multiple mechanical structure, sensor in addition driver circuits, database, as well as interactive interface. In mechanical structure design, 3D printing is used for obtaining some key components. The proposed upper-limb rehabilitation has advantage of low step angle, holding torque, pressure and angle monitoring, assist or opposes upper limb mussel motion with low cost. The data storage and analysis are obtained using windows application, and control implementation is obtained by DSPIC30F4011 and stepper motor. The suggested upper-limb rehabilitation scheme is integrated and tested; the necessary parameters are verified.
