Heuristic approach for mitigation of time Delay cyber-attacks using NLADRC

In today's world, cyber-attacks are happening every day. The cyber-physical power system is one of the most targeted critical infrastructures. In today's time, stopping electricity flowing due to cyber-attacks can significantly harm any country's economy. One of the most common cyber-attacks is a time delay cyber-attack. This time delay cyber-attack is hazardous for the power system. Only a few seconds of attacks can destabilise the system. That is why mitigation of time delay cyber-attack is essential. This paper proposes a new heuristic nonlinear active disturbance controller (NLADRC) tuning approach. This heuristic approach is fast and quickly stabilises the multi-area load frequency control problem. In this paper, first of all, three area load frequency control were explained. Afterwards, how time delay cyber-attacks can affect the power system is described. And finally, one practical example used for the method of NLADRC controller tuning is implemented on the three-area load frequency control under a time delay cyber-attack. Simulations in MATLAB and Simulink are used to validate the proposed NLADRC controller and compare results to traditional PID controllers.
