Influence of Temperature and Air Pressure on Arc Characteristics of Horizontal Air Insulated Disconnector

Disconnector is a switching device without arc extinguishing function. But in actual operation, it needs to have a certain capacitive small current switching ability. Based on the disconnector breaking capacitive small current circuit, this paper has studied the effects of temperature and air pressure on the arc current, arc length, arc duration and other external characteristic parameters, which has certain guiding significance for disconnector test at high altitude. According to GB / T 1985–2014, the capacitive small current circuit of disconnector is built. The control variable method is used to change the temperature and air pressure respectively, and the parameters such as arc current and arc length are obtained with Pearson coil, photoelectric isolation measurement system of HBK company and other equipment. The data show that the arc current, arc length and other parameters are less affected by temperature, and these parameters show an increasing trend with the decrease of air pressure, which is consistent with the existing research results. At the end of the paper, the equivalent method of simulating arc test at high altitude at conventional altitude by changing the voltage is also given.
