摘要
Inflammation is a complex pathophysiological response to injury involving different signaling molecules delivered by leukocytes, macrophages, and pole cells, and the initiation of supplementary factors. It involves swelling because of the extravasation of liquid and proteins and amassing leukocytes at the site of the inflammation. Mitigating medications can inhibit the pathophysiological cycle of inflammation to limit tissue damage and diminish pain. Calming effects of secondary metabolites are generally significant for inhibition and interference with inflammation, and can be obtained from different sources such as plants, marine sources, microorganisms, and even animals. Antiinflammatory drugs can interfere in the pathophysiological interaction of inflammation to limit tissue damage and lessen pain. This chapter examines different basic secondary metabolites along with their extraction standards and strategies. Moreover, the chapter provides a basic understanding of the current treatment of inflammation utilizing secondary metabolites by featuring the diverse dynamic standards from normal sources and their molecular modes of activity.
