Parallel operation of PFC modules offers many advantages over a single, high-power, centralized power supply. In this paper, parallel control for a digital interleaved boost-type PFC converter with a novel current sensing circuit, which senses the switch current only for both Power Factor Correction (PFC) and current sharing control, is proposed. The current-mode control method provides one way to improve the power factor and lower total harmonic distortion (THD). To achieve current-mode control, there are two ways to apply the control method to a practical situation. The controller is designed, and the sensitivity of current sharing is analysed. Furthermore, prototypes are developed to verify the proposed method, and the experimental results are given to support the study and analysis.
