Multi-location evaluation of cantaloupe (Cucumis melo L.) cultivars for their aroma and flavor related volatile composition using a metabolomics approach

摘要
•Cantaloupe from different geographical origins were studied.•A total of 167 volatiles were identified and quantified in 9 cantaloupe cultivars.•Ethyl butanoate, ethyl 2-methylbutanoate Ethyl hexanoate, ethyl benzoate and were major esters.•(Z)-6-Nonenal, (E)-2-Nonenal and (E,Z)-2,6-nonadienal, (Z)-6-nonen-1-ol content distinguished the cultivars.•Geranylacetone, β-ionone were major ketones.
