Influence of Torque Sharing Function Parameters on Torque Ripple and Online Torque Error Compensation in Switched Reluctance Machines

Large torque ripple is a significant disadvantage of Switched Reluctance Machines (SRMs) which has limited its application in high precision occasions. This paper will firstly analyze the influence of torque sharing function (TSF) parameters on the control performance. Then, an improved torque ripple reduction method with online torque error compensation based on the TSF is proposed. According to the torque tracking abilities of the two phases during commutation, two control modes are defined. Under each mode, the torque error can be compensated by the error compensator to the phase with higher torque tracking ability. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method have been verified in dynamic simulation and will be further verified by experiments.
