Design and implementation of ATM interface module based on high speed DSP

With the development of modern underwater acoustic technology, the demand for signal processing capabilities in underwater equipments is increasing. On the one hand, it needs to adapt to the advanced algorithm and constantly improve the signal processing capacity of the equipment. On the other hand, the data transmission capacity of the equipment has become a bottleneck to be improved and overcome, in addition, due to the harsh Marine environment, a more anti-interference and corrosion resistant way of transmitting signals is needed because of large loss of the transmission energy of electrical signal. Aiming at these problems, this paper proposes a design and implementation of ATM interface module based on high speed DSP. This module uses VPX Bus combined with high performance DSP and FPGA, the high speed DSP adopts TMS320C6678 and the FPGA adopts V5 serials chip of Xilinx Company. The ATM interface module also provides SRIO interface, ATM optical interface, Gigabit Ethernet interface and other interfaces. In addition the module migrates embedded real-time operating system, it is a strong real-time, tailoring, extensibility and applicability operating system. Above all, the ATM interface module based on high DSP can achieve the purpose of high speed signal transmission and processing, and it can provide a variety of interfaces. The final result shows that the performance of the ATM interface module is stable and reliable.
