CWT Analysis of Transient Stability Voltage in Power System EMT Modeling

Considering the trend of large-scale renewable energy integration, the supporting and regulating capacity of the power system continuously decrease under the effect of energy replacement. As a result, the power grid begins to confront the challenge of transient voltage stability assessment. This paper proposes a transient voltage fluctuation analysis method based on the time-frequency domain continuous wavelet analysis(CWT), aiming to solve the voltage instability problem under renewable integration. Therefore, the proposed method intuitively connects the abstract process of voltage transient stability change with the physical change process of the power grid. Moreover, the transient voltage post-fault state changes can be emphasized by analyzing the turning-point of voltage stability in the time-frequency domain. The electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation analysis is an effective tool for analyzing and studying the transient voltage stability assessment under utility-scale renewable energy integration. Therefore, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified using the EMT simulation software-based industrial power system model.
