•Real time spatial localization of single motor unit using simulated Motor Unit Action Potential (MUAP) dictionary and minimum norm estimation.•Obtaining a 3D solution curve, after inverse optimization, for parameter extraction.•3D fitting curve from known MU localization from the dictionary and interpolation for unknown MU localization.•Promising spatial localization performances even in presence of noise.
