摘要
•A 3D steady-state FE model was developed for thermal analysis of hybrid plasma arc-laser additive manufacturing.•Artificial conductivity in three orthogonal directions was applied in the melt pool to compensate for the melt pool convection effect.•This model has advantages over the commonly used volumetric heat source models.•The melt pool geometry at different process conditions was analysed.•The full-field distributions of the cooling rate and thermal gradient were obtained.
