•Parameter identification of flexible rotor-bearing system by unbalanced response.•Nonlinear force coefficients of magnetorheological damper are identified.•Bearings’ stiffness and damping coefficients, and unbalanced force are identified.•Simultaneous identification of dynamical parameters in presence of magnetic field.•Experimental identification results show high precision of parameters estimation.
