Since 2018, the innovative teaching projects „CA 2.x - Christian Archaeology in the inverted classroom“ and „Virtual Excursions“ have been developed at FAU’s chair of Early Christian Archaeology. Their aim is to improve teaching and to increase the attractiveness of the subject. On the basis of a target group analysis, concepts have been developed that focus on the students of „Generation Z“ and take their needs and reception habits seriously. While videos on typical research topics were produced as part of the inverted classroom project, 360° images and videos of important monuments were created for the virtual excursions. Both projects follow a modular structure. This not only allows us to use the material in almost any course type, it can also be updated and expanded with little effort
