Development of didactic magazines as a playful strategy for the teaching of Morphophysiology of the endocrine system

Biology teaching is still applied in a traditional way in which the blackboard and chalk are indispensable. However, this approach, used as a predominant resource, tends to lead to a lack of interest and difficulty in assimilating the content. The objective of this study was to propose, as a complementary pedagogical resource that stimulates student engagement, the creation of didactic magazines in the "Hobby" style on Morphophysiology of the Endocrine System. Participants were 155 students from 5 classes of the 2nd year of high school at a public school in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Five magazines and a total of 100 games were created. Subsequently, a questionnaire was applied to assess the acceptance and perception of educational usefulness of this resource. The study evidenced the relevant role of the use of ludic, low-cost and easy-to-apply methodology, which facilitates the teaching of the Endocrine System through the construction of didactic magazines by the students themselves. His participatory and investigative involvement made the classes dynamic due to the very essence of the proposed practice. The findings point to the need for the teacher to develop new methods that encourage real participation and student commitment to their learning.
