Design and Experimentation of Hydraulic Turbine for Low-flow Ocean Current Energy Transmission and Control Power Generation Equipment

The development of marine technology and equipment manufacturing can improve the ecological environment and climate change, and expand the space of the blue economy. Ocean current energy is the kinetic energy of seawater flow, mainly from the more stable flow in submarine waterways and straits and from the regular flow of seawater due to tides, and is another form of ocean energy that takes the form of kinetic energy. This paper develops a kind of distributed sea current energy turbine power generation equipment based on hydraulic energy transfer, through the design and optimization of the turbine structure, the simulation analysis of the hydraulic system, the design of low-flow sea current energy hydraulic transfer control power generation equipment, and the towing experiment in the towing pool. At a water flow rate of 0.3 m/s, the turbine generates 332.8 W at design operating conditions, with a power factor of 0.44 and an optimum blade tip speed ratio of approximately 6.5. The research in this paper provides the basis for the efficient exploitation of low-flow ocean current energy, which has important military applications and great potential for commercial exploitation.
