摘要
Emotion regulation has a key role in behavior through different techniques. Neurofeedback (NF) is a non-invasive self-regulation training technique used for emotion regulation to enhance brain function or treatment of mental disorders leading to behavioral changes. In this study, we investigated the connectivity patterns among EEG electrodes by recalling positive autobiographical memories to increase positive emotion via neurofeedback of EEG data and simultaneous fMRI. Coherence patterns among 24 EEG electrodes and between different blocks of the experimental (real neurofeedback) group and also experimental and sham groups were investigated to extract the effect of neurofeedback (corrected for multiple comparisons using FDR, q = 0.05). The results revealed increased coherence among different EEG electrodes in different frequency bands especially between parietal, frontal and central regions. The results of this study may be utilized in future neurofeedback researches based on the EEG coherence with more effectiveness than traditional activity-based neurofeedback based on the power of one or two EEG electrodes in a special frequency band.
