Study on private cars’ charging location selection behavior based on face-to-face investigation

the difficulty in charging is an important factor hindering the development of electric private cars at present, and the reasonable layout of charging facilities is a necessary means to alleviate the difficulty in charging. However, the traditional charging pile/station planning is mainly based on static social and economic data, with little consideration of the travel behavior and charging preference of electric cars. In order to further study the charging location selection behavior of electric private car users, 120 questionnaires were collected to analyze the main influencing factors of charging location selection of electric private cars in Changsha. A multivariate Logit model was established for charging location selection of electric private cars, and sensitivity analysis was conducted. The results show that household income, single travel time consumption, daily travel times, travel purpose and quick charging mode have significant effects on the charging location choice of electric private car users.
