Meta-analysis of Soft skills in the employability of university students

The objective was to determine the soft skills most required for the employability of university students. It began with the systematic review of 212 articles published in indexed journals; With six exclusion criteria, seven articles were selected, concordant in the two study variables, objectives, type of competences and quantitative approach. Then the meta-analysis was carried out, using the forest plot, considering the seven articles and the proportionality based on nine competencies required for employability, obtained from 20 articles. The results show statistically significant effects, at a 95% confidence interval for each publication and the overall result, homogeneity was found in the articles and publication bias was low. In conclusion, the transversal competences most required for employability and the need to reduce the gap between them were identified, so it is recommended to update the curriculum frequently.
