Effect of Groove Angle on Stress Field and Deformation of Q345/316 Dissimilar Metal Welded Joints

Based on SYSWELD welding simulation software, combined with numerical simulation and experiment, this paper predicts the residual stress distribution and deformation of dissimilar metal welded components and studies the influence of groove angle on the thermal temperature history, residual stress, and welding deformation of Q345/316L dissimilar steel welded joint of 8mm medium plate. The results show that the simulation results are consistent with the measured results. Furthermore, with the increase of V-groove angle, the distribution range of residual stress in the joint becomes more significant, and the transverse and longitudinal residual stress near HAZ in the base metal on both sides increases; The transverse shrinkage and angular deformation of the joint also increased significantly, but the residual stress at the weld and fusion line decreased. Therefore, choosing an appropriate groove angle has specific practical engineering significance for reducing residual stress and welding deformation.
