Research on Suppression Strategies of Wind Farm Subsynchronous Oscillation

In recent years, as the power system is developing towards a “double-high” system with a high proportion of new energy generation and high proportion of power electronic equipment, the problem of new sub/super-synchronous oscillation caused or participated by it is becoming increasingly serious, which has brought a serious impact on the safe and stable operation of the power system and the economic requirements. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the suppression strategies of subsynchronous oscillations in wind farms. This paper proposes three subsynchronous oscillation suppression strategies based on the subsynchronous oscillation mechanism of wind farms, including parallel STATCOM (static synchronous compensator devices), additional virtual resistors, and parallel bypass damping filters. The effectiveness and adaptability of the three methods are verified through modal analysis and time domain simulation.
