Design and comparison of linear induction motor and superconducting linear synchronous motor for electromagnetic launch

摘要
This paper studies on the feasibility of different electromagnetic launch systems for light space vehicles. The design of the linear induction motor and high temperature superconducting linear synchronous motor are proposed based on the launch requirements. This study compares the key performance parameters of the two linear motor topologies. A small prototype was built and static experiments were conducted to verify the rationality of the linear induction motor design. Through theoretical calculation, finite element simulation and experimental verification, this research provides a theoretical basis for the research of linear motors in aerospace electromagnetic launch.
