This bibliographic review article aims to know the theoretical approaches of depression in the childhood and juvenile life course, from early exposure to situations of violence, while myelination processes are obstructed, to the extent that in first years of life, one is a victim of violence, directly influencing changes, cognitive, behavioral and emotional. It results from the interest in learning about the advances in the disciplines, methodologies, categories and questions that are motivating researchers about depression as a symptom rooted in violence, today. The analysis of the information was developed through the state of the art consisting of 8 (eight) items and 50 (fifty) rows, in order to order and categorize the information based on relational concepts. The disciplinary perspectives investigated in this review are Psychology, psychiatry, neuropsychology and the social sciences. The main categories investigated by the authors are: myelination, childhood violence, depression, Neuropsychological and emotional consequences of violence. The questions asked by the researchers are located in four fields: neurobiological processes, violence and child maltreatment, parenting patterns, infant-juvenile depression, and behavioral, emotional and cognitive disorders. Based on the results obtained, it was identified that the cardinal problems addressed in the investigations are, intra-family violence, parenting patterns as one of the articulating axes, and infant-juvenile depression.
