Treatment outcomes of secondary bacteraemia in patients treated with ceftaroline fosamil: pooled results from six phase III clinical trials

•Data were pooled from six phase III, randomised controlled clinical trials of ceftaroline fosamil.•Patients with ceftaroline fosamil indications and secondary bacteraemia were included.•Clinical and microbiological outcomes were assessed in patients with bacteraemia.•Outcomes were generally favourable in bacteraemic ceftaroline fosamil-treated patients.•No new safety issues were identified for ceftaroline fosamil in bacteraemic patients.
